Top 10 Training Tracks (pt.2)

If you liked part one of our list of intensity inducing training tunes then you’ll love our top five selections

By Alex Zakrzewski, Online Editor

5. AC/DC – Thunderstruck

This classic by one of the most energetic rock acts ever to take the stage is a fast paced, in your face thrill ride that will shoot you full of energy faster than most pre-workout stimulants. The opening buildup alone is worth putting this track on repeat.

4. Rage Against The Machine – Bulls On Parade

From beginning to end this controversial track reeks of anger and frustration making it an ideal choice when lifting heavy stuff repeatedly. You may be a slave to the system but that doesn’t mean you have to be a slave to the weights!

3. Eminem – ‘Till I Collapse

This 2002 hit has already become a workout staple the world over and it’s easy to see why. Its powerful beat, engrossing lyrics and chant-like melody are ideal for getting into the zone as you prepare to leave every ounce of strength in your body at the gym.

2. Black Sabbath – Iron Man

What better song could you hope to listen to as you work to build yourself into an actual man (or woman) of iron? From its pounding, plodding guitar work to its maddening lyrics and melody, everything about this heavy metal classic lends itself to the lifting of heavy metal.

1. Survivor – Eye of the Tiger

We know, it’s cliché and overplayed. But let’s be honest, it’s impossible to listen to this song and not think about working out. The Rocky movies were crucial in helping to popularize health and fitness, weight training and physical culture in 70’s and 80’s. The lasting popularity of this 1982 hit is a testament to Rocky Balboa’s enduring influence on gymrats everywhere. While we don’t recommend chugging a glass of raw eggs before your next workout, we do recommend adding this timeless track to your playlist.

There you have it.  Did we hit the nail on the head or were we way off the mark?  Either way, we want to know your choices for top training tracks.
