Unknown and unheralded Marius Dohne surprised a field of 16 IFBB pros to win the Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Tampa Pro on June 25 and the $10,000 first place prize. The South African edged out Japan’s Hidetada Yamagishi to capture his first pro win and the automatic Olympia invitation. Canada’s Frank McGrath nailed his best-ever condition to take third, beating out former 202 competitor Mark Dugdale (fourth) and hometown favorite Marcus Haley (fifth).
In the 202 division, Al Auguste won his pro debut over Venezuela’s Rixio Tapia.
