His first-place finish marks his first IFBB pro win in five years and earns him both the $10,000 prize and a spot at this year’s Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas.
This year’s winners circle at FIBO was an impressive mix of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming talent. Australia’s Michael Kefalianos put Jackson to the test with an outstanding display that secured him the runner-up spot and $6,000. The surprise of the contest was arguably Sergey Shelestov of Russia, who had one of his best finishes in three years, netting third place and $4,000.
Newcomers Balto Abbaspour of Iran and Feras Saied of Italy took home the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
After the contest, Jackson seemed more shocked than anyone by his win and said he was looking forward to the Olympia, where he plans on competing against the best the sport has to offer.
