2011 Sheru Classic Offers Few Surprises

Familiar Olympia faces dominate winner’s circle
Just seven days after a captivating Mr. Olympia showdown in Las Vegas, the biggest, baddest bodybuilders in the business (minus a still-underperforming Dexter Jackson) made an 8,000-mile pilgrimage of sorts, to Mumbai India’s Sheru Classic.
Any gamblers in the crowd would have done well to stick with the Olympia template, as judges picked the same top five from the Mr. O. And who can blame them? With just one week between the contests, any competitor would have to seriously mess up his conditioning to appear much different (though I imagine a week of Indian food could certainly do some damage).
Phil Heath, who won $200,000 for the Olympia title, beat Jay Cutler for the second time and took home another $50 grand for the Sheru win, making his trip more than worthwhile.
