After 12 frustrating years, Tony Kanaan finally won the race that has eluded him for far too long. On Sunday, May 26, behind the wheel of his #11 Hydroxycut KV Racing Technology Chevrolet, Kanaan won his first Indianapolis 500. One of the most prolific drivers to never win this race, the estimated crowd of nearly 400,000 were witness to the most entertaining Indy 500 in its 97 year history. Hydroxycut was at the center of this historic event which saw a record 68 lead changes and an average race speed of 187.433 mph, another Indy record.
Hydroxycut, America’s #1 weight loss supplement, is used to being in the spot light. Helping countless individuals achieve their weight loss goals over the years, Team Hydroxycut was proud to share the winners circle with driver and athlete, Tony Kanaan. During the last restart of the race, with only 4 laps to go and Kanaan sitting in second place, he knew that he had one shot and one shot only to get ahead of leader Ryan Hunter-Reay upon the last restart. “Well boys, I’m gonna go for it...it’s gonna be all or nothing”, are the last words he told his pit crew before going low and shot-gunning his Hydroxycut sponsored machine past Hunter-Reay to take the lead and cruise to victory. Hydroxycut has developed a reputation for supporting world class athletes and they don’t get any classier than Tony Kanaan.
