Oysters

People have been eating oysters as an aphrodisiac since the days of the ancients who likened the look of these erotic mollusks to female genitalia. Since then, oysters have been proven to contain dopamine, a neurotransmitter that controls the brain’s pleasure sensors and influences sexual desires. Oysters are also absolutely packed with zinc, which is crucial in the production of testosterone, the principal male sex hormone and a major factor in muscle growth. Eat oysters guys and you’ll not only be having more sex – you’ll look better doing it!

Avocado

There’s a reason why the Aztecs called this fruit “ahuacatl” – the Nahuatl word for “testicle” – as it is full of libido-boosting properties. Avocados are an excellent source of vitamin B6, an important nutrient in the production of male hormones essential for maintaining sex drive. Moreover, the high levels of folic acid help to metabolize protein thereby generating increased energy and stamina in both men and women. Avocados are also one of the best sources for heart-friendly monounsaturated fats and a healthy ticker will ensure a healthy sex life!

Garlic

While garlic breath will definitely destroy any chance of knocking boots, regular doses of garlic has been shown to both boost sex drive and the body’s immune system. Garlic contains a substance called allicin that, when consumed regularly, can improve the flow of blood to sexual organs. Increased blood flow of course means longer, better sex. As an added bonus, garlic has been found to have numerous medicinal benefits that aid in everything from heart health to fighting colds!

Watermelon

Researchers at Texas A&M’s Fruit and Vegetable Improvement Center recently discovered the edible parts of a watermelon to be loaded with citrulline. This amino acid works to relax and dilate blood vessels much the same way as Viagra and other sexual dysfunction medication. While it is still unknown just how much watermelon has to be consumed to get the full effects of the little blue pill, more blood flow means more nutrients reaching your muscles – so chow down!

Chili Peppers

Chili peppers are guaranteed to get you hot in every sense of the word. These little firecrackers pack an irritant called capsaicin, which causes an increase in breathing, sweating and blood flow similar to that experienced during sexual arousal. It also releases endorphins, boosts metabolic rate and lowers cholesterol. Ay caramba! Is there anything capsaicin can’t do?

Celery

This popular vegetable snack contains androsterone, on odorless hormone that acts as a pheromone when released through male perspiration. It also contains generous doses of vitamin B6, potassium and folic acid, all of which work to boost sex drive in both men and women in different ways. Moreover, because celery is 95% water, it’s a great snack to help rehydrate after you’re done doing the deed!
